Travel

Today marks another day of travel for me. I think that airports are one of my favorite places to people watch. You can see all spectrums of emotion.

The exhausted runner who is hoping to make their flight. The stressed out family just trying to entertain their kids. The "i'm too busy to even look up from my blackberry" business person. The overdressed traveler, usually a female, but males can fit into this category as well. The pissed off person that ran to their gate and can see their plane still sitting there, but the doors have been closed (this is probably the worst feeling at the airport). The excited person who can't stop smiling because they are either home or very close. And finally, the sleeper, you know the one who as soon as they sit down they are out, but not only are they asleep, they begin to snore, and quite loudly I might add.

Yep, this is why I love travel. People amaze me, I'm sure I fit into the category of "person who loves to stare at people, but thinks that no one notices". Oh I almost forgot one. The person who has their ipod earbuds in and begins to move to the rhythm(very hard word to spell by the way) that no one else can hear.

Since I have a little extra time, I will let you all into a little secret. I secretly (well I guess it is not a secret anymore) think that meeting a random guy at the airport and falling in love would probably be the best story in the world. But, for some reason... probably because of odds of that are a TRILLION to ONE, I seem to always sit next to the old/redneck/hairy/married/annoying/(insert any other adjective besides, single, cute, attractive, or rich) person. Just once I would love to strike up a fun conversation that would lead to him asking me for my phone number. So now you all know how pathetic I am... but I think random encounters like that make the best stories. At the very least, they are usually void of drama!

Well, I hope that everyone has had a great Easter. I will post a couple pictures soon of my time at home. It was good to be home except for the 4 inches of snow that we had on Sunday. It was a little chilly to say the least!

OneScope

This weekend, Brittney, Rikki and myself went to compete in Little Rock at the Arkansas Governors Cup competition. We developed a Web-based Electronic Medical Record database for medical professionals. It went really well. We were in the finalist group for the Graduate track. We don't find out till April 28th if we made the top three. Then if we make the top 2 we go in May and compete in Vegas to compete in a Tri-State competition. Anyways. It has been a great experience.

Now I am so thankful to have a little more time on my hands and today has been amazing. It was the first Sunday in probably 3 Months that I haven't worked on the Business Plan... Phew...

This week I am going to be heading out to Colorado. Hopefully I won't see snow.

Is anyone else having trouble uploading pictures... I can't get mine to upload. HELP! All I get is the HTML of it...

The last week...

It's been a busy couple of weeks... Here is a little update from my life.

I went to GA to see the fam...

That is Brody... He is almost 2 and a little trouble maker, but so cute while he does it.

That is my niece Bella scoring one of her many goals. She is a great soccer player... It was so much fun watching these little 5-6 year olds run around playing socer

I made this cake for a little boy. It is for Robin... as in Batman and Robin. My first ever full fondant cake... It was actually easier than I thought and I learned it all by watching how-to's on youtube... love it.

One day at work, Rachel and I were kicking a soccer ball around that I won. Yes... I won it at a soccer game. Anyways, she kicked it and it went sailing right into this crate that only had about 6 inches of clearance under the desk. It is still there in that crate to this day with two very proud people looking on!

Here is one of my favorite pictures of Rachel... it makes me laugh every time I see it. Rach, don't kill me...

Also, I have enjoyed this site so much. You all should try it, for those of you who have fancy photo editing software this is probably boring to you, but for me it is perfect. It's free, easy and has fun things, so go to it... http://www.picnik.com/app#/home/welcome

One last thing... What are your thoughts on twitter? I still have not decided what I think of it yet... I feel like it has just taken off in the last couple of weeks and everyone is talking about it. It is supposedly going to replace blogging... All I have to say is if you can stay connected to me by a single sentence that is just sad.

Wow, I think this needs to go down as the longest post I have ever put up... I hope everyone has a great week coming up. Please be praying for a job for me!

Inventory of Belongings

So I have been told that I need to put this up on my blog... so here it is...

The other Saturday I got really excited because I was done with school and didn't have to do homework. So I was sitting on the couch thinking to myself that it was a perfect saturday and what could I do to make it even better? I decided that making a spreadsheet of everything I own and what I think it is worth, whether I want to sell it in a garage sale or not (so I know what I want to take with me when I move), and then when I move what I will need to purchase and how much I think each thing will cost me.

So for the first picture: This is the major things that I own right now and how much I think they are worth. Then at the bottom I have a sales goal for my garage sale and what stuff I want to sell.

The Second picture is what I need:
Go ahead... laugh it up. But I feel much better now!

march...seriously?

This is a great picture of my niece and give a pretty good description of how I am feeling this morning...

I just really can't believe it is March already. And with that next weekend means that March is almost halfway over. I am in a very different place in my life. I have 6 weeks left at The Center and am trying to be 100% there and engaged, but I have to prepare for when I leave and what I will do. So that means that I am posting resumes, applying to jobs, scheduling interviews and the like. I had an interview on Friday and it just felt weird (for lack of a better word). Then I had to go back to work... I just don't think that I am that good at compartmentalizing things!

Anways, since the sun and warmth is here I decided to write somethings that I am very thankful for!
  • I am about to take my last FINAL EVER ... edit... I just found out that the final that I thought was at 9:00am is actually at 9:30am...
  • Did I mention it has been warm and staying warm
  • The daffodils are coming out all over
  • I had an interview on Friday
  • I can know that God is leading me and will direct me where he wants me
  • Margaritas...
  • A much needed haircut today
  • Going home to Colorado for Easter
  • TAX RETURN! (thanks mom)
  • A group of us made a business plan for an Electronic Medical Record database and we were just accepted into a big competition for it (I know NERD-Y), but we have a chance to win over $40,000! So ha... take that!
  • Yoda the Toyota
  • My incredible friends... I hate thinking about how we are all going in separate directions in a few months
This is a picture of our trip to Chicago... it was cold.
Have a GREAT saturday...
